莖干高約1米，直徑6厘米；葉柄基部棕色，長(zhǎng)36-65厘米，直徑1厘米，在葉柄基部更明顯；葉軸綠色，具細(xì)小刺突，無鱗片。葉片長(zhǎng)1.5-2米，三回羽狀深裂；羽片長(zhǎng)30-40厘米，基部的顯著縮短；小羽片長(zhǎng)7-10厘米，寬1.3-2.1厘米，近無柄；末回裂片邊緣細(xì)齒狀；下部1-2對(duì)小羽片的基部變狹或近分離，葉脈10-11對(duì)分離，分叉；葉下面光滑，沿中脈生少數(shù)薄的小鱗片；上面沿中脈和小羽片。孢子囊群圓形，生分叉小脈上。具刺和鱗片，刺長(zhǎng)1毫米，鱗片長(zhǎng)1.5厘米，黑色；囊群蓋小，棕色，生中脈一側(cè)。
產(chǎn)臺(tái)灣（蘭嶼）。菲律賓的巴坦島也有分布。模式標(biāo)本采自菲律賓。
